I didn't know...

Posted by ArtyArty - September 27th, 2007

I didn't know asking the author something about their work was a crime. It's not like I told them "Go to hell" or "You suck." The only thing I asked the authors; whom I will not mention, is "Why is this for adults?" and "What's the point of this?"

Comments

the reason is they feel like you insulting them like you didn't get y it was rated for adults and they think that your stupid for not getting the point.

I see, that's too bad. The movie if it was rated everyone would've received more viewers. And it didn't belong in the adult section. It wasn't a bad flash either.

I don't know what the first question is about but the point is to bring happyness/laughter to people.

Ummm I don't think I was being clear. I was asking why when I asked some authors a question about their flash, why did they report me instead of answering so I could understand. I didn't write any of them to be mean, I was simply asking a question.

Ah wells, people are so sensitive sometimes,
especially when they perceive something as an direct attack on their.. uhm
creativity? xD

Thanks for the constructive response. =)

Some people are just plain ass holes. Why they're choose to be so is beyond me.

Probably a rough life.

Asking about someones work is crime?!?

Some times I wonder.

What happend?

I gave a harmless response to a couple of flashes and I got reported for them. -_-

Yeah, I get that a lot too. Sometimes people are just dicks and assume that you're super-anal about rating, purpose, etc. No big deal.

It's good to know that I'm not alone. ^_^

It isn't they just suck.

No, probably they were having a bad day, or something. ^_^;

Well you have to keep in mind the age and mental level of the population you're dealing with... a kid or teenager is usually not very receptive to criticism and/or not old enough to communicate constructively with others.

Good point, and very constructive response. :3

Don't ask things if you know they will be rude. I mean, you are 20 right?

I wasn't being rude. Why do some people think asking questions are bad things? I was simply asking a question.

Ur avatar looks naugty XD

Thanks? And please feel free to express your opinion on the topic.

whut u mean da less we know about you da better and authors are vury defensive about their work ask me what my song is about and i get defensive cause i dont relay know ~~ just some random song

Please stay on topic, I'd really like to hear your opinion. :3

think they may have found it as offensive as if you said"you suck."Also they might have thought you meant "What's the point of this?" in a threatining way,it all depends on what you rated it...

I see.

All I notice is you're asking them in their review section and that is probibly not the best idea. First of all, they feel like they're being put on the spot in their review section and it seems belittling of them to have to answer those and other seemingly rhetorical questions. Second of all, and most importantly, the review section is a place to put constructive criticism--keyword being constructive. Good luck in your reviews.

But if I don't understand their work how can I give a constructive review? I like to give the authors a chance to explain things, I don't just judge without clarity.

bummer...

Agreed.
